Neue Schule Turtle Top With Flex Bit

The Turtle Top™ with Flex Bit incorporates an anatomically inspired design with a double jointed bit and optimized mouthpiece alignment. The flattened dome-shaped link, inspired by the shell of the Box turtle, reduces palate pressure and prevents the horse's tongue from pushing the cannons upwards. The Neue Schule Flex design ensures proper alignment between the mouthpiece surfaces and the sensitive surfaces of the horse's mouth. In most designs, the Flex function allows the Turtle Top™ dome to align with the equine palate, while in some designs, it can apply additional pressure to the tongue and poll through a lever action-induced rotation of the mouthpiece. This extra pressure is carefully limited to a range of 10 degrees. The development of our popular Tranz range, FlexZ features gently curved cannons that form a wide arch over the tongue and are held in place by the Turtle Top™. As a result, FlexZ remains securely centered on the tongue and is resistant to being pulled through the mouth.
